Because of the different ways people with ASD think, seemingly simple tasks can be extraordinarily difficult to process. Such tasks include, but are not limited to:
-Struggles with organizing self on paper, i.e. where to start or what to write
  • -Challenges in organizing thoughts or performing multi-step tasks
  • -Difficulty finishing or turning in work
  • -Managing homework and due dates is often difficult
  • -May be explosive and/or easily frustrated
  • -Either unable to generalize or overly generalizes skills
  • -Can be impulsive, hyperactive, or exhibit a short attention span for items that aren’t                 of interest
  • -Being quiet or waiting can be hard
  • -Difficulty working independently without bothering others
  • -Perfectionism; accepting help or correction can be hard
  • -Trouble following lectures and verbally-based instruction
